New online marketing regulation to be introduced in the UK

From 1 March 2011, marketing on companies' websites, including Facebook and Twitter accounts, are to be regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority. In a nutshell, marketing communications will need to comply with rules as set out in the CAP (Committee of Advertising Practice) Code.
